"Godzilla: King of the Monsters", the sequel to 2014's "Godzilla", adds more stars to its cast.

19 May – Charles Dance, known for his role as the calculating and ruthless Lord Tywin Lannister in the hit TV series "Game of Thrones", has been added to the upcoming "Godzilla" sequel.

Dance has been confirmed to join the cast of "Godzilla: King of the Monsters", according to Deadline. The sequel will be the third instalment of the Legendary Entertainment and Warner Bros. collaborative project, the MonsterVerse.

"Krampus" writers Michael Dougherty and Zach Shields will once again work together to pen the script, with Dougherty doubling as director.

The 2014 "Godzilla", which depicted the titular monster more as a destructive defender than an unstoppable force of nature that no army can hope to win against, was directed by Gareth Edwards who later on went to direct "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story".

Not much is known about the plot of the sequel yet, but the events in the film will most likely connect to this year's "Kong: Skull Island" and lead to the expected finale of the MonsterVerse's "Godzilla vs. Kong".

Other than Dance, the actors that have already signed on to join "Godzilla: King of the Monsters" are Millie Bobby Brown ("Stranger Things"), Vera Farmiga ("The Conjuring"), Kyle Chandler ("Manchester By The Sea"), O'Shea Jackson Jr. ("Straight Outta Compton"), Aisha Hinds ("Runaway Island") and Anthony Ramos ("White Girl").

Sally Hawkins has also been confirmed to return and reprise her role as Dr. Vivienne Graham.

The film is expected to be released on 22 May 2019 in the U.S and, short of any complications, "Godzilla vs. Kong" should be released the following year on 22 May 2020.

While waiting for the film's release, you can catch Dance in "Journey to China: The Mystery Of Iron Mask" with Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jackie Chan.
