The arrival of the Japanese Film Festival each year is always met with welcoming anticipation. The 14th edition of the festival this year brings in a total of 14 Japanese titles for the big screen and they encompass a variety of genres to pick from! Whether you want to catch Takumi Saitoh's directorial feature "Blank 13" or see him star in "The Projects", you can also catch some decent comedies in the form of "Samurai Hustle Returns" and "ReLIFE". "Her Love Boils Bathwater"

What is it about:
A single mother who discovers she only has a few months to live after being diagnosed with terminal cancer and so becomes determine to bring back her husband, teach her daughter independence and to reopen their shut-down bathhouse.
Why you should watch it:
It won many awards especially for the film's two female stars, Rie Miyazawa and Hana Sugisaki.


"Midnight Diner 2"

What is it about:
This sequel follows the happenings of an alleyway restaurant and its owner, Master, who encounters the many different types of customers and the stories they bring with them.
Why you should watch it:
Are you a foodie? And do you love Japanese food? Prepare to drool at this popular adaptation that is also a television series.


"ReLIFE"

What is it about:
A 27-year-old unemployed man, participates in an experiement called "ReLIFE" that allows him to appear 10 years younger for a period of one year. Discovering a second shot at being young again, he enrolls in high school and forms a bond with his classmates.
Why you should watch it:
We have to admit the premise of the story is very interesting and pair that with the high and lows of a high school setting, this is just drama gold. Also this is a new movie that got released this year, so you have to watch it at the cinema!
