30 Dec – 2014 is a strong year for Bollywood films, with movies like Salman Khan's "Kick", Hrithik Roshan's "Bang Bang!" and Shah Rukh Khan's "Happy New Year" making waves in the cinemas of North America.
However, the latest Bollywood film, "P.K.", starring Aamir Khan in the titular role, has managed to trump them all. According to Deadline, it is currently the highest grossing foreign language film in North America, collecting USD7.8 million domestically.
It opened at number nine on North American Top 10, the third Bollywood film to do so following last year's films "Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani" and "Dhoom 3", the latter also starring Aamir Khan and was the second biggest foreign language film in North America for last year.

"P.K." might possibly be the biggest Bollywood movie of all time with its estimated 327.6 crore, provided the report of USD51.6 million accumulation in India holds true and is not factoring in the currency fluctuations.
The film is not celebrated by all, however, with religious activists in India protesting and causing several Mumbai cinemas to stop showing it. The activists claim that the film is insulting Hindu gods. NDTV reports that there were also protests in other cities like Ahmedabad, Bhopal, Agra and Jammu.

While back in September, Aamir Khan admitted to wanting to quit the acting business due to fans' wilting interest in his films, the actor just might be having second thoughts about that admission now after the booming success of "P.K."
