"Star Wars 7" is "The Force Awakens"

"Star Wars" episode VII finally gets a title.

7 Nov – Walt Disney Pictures and the official Star Wars Twitter account have revealed that the official title for the upcoming seventh movie, which is now called "Star Wars: The Force Awakens".

Slated for release next year, Disney states that the movie's principal photography has been completed, CNET reports.

May the Force be with the movie as the newly announced title is receiving mixed responses from fans. Some are delighted of it finally having an official title but then there are those who deem it the worst of all the "Star Wars" titles.

Twitter has been flooded with the hashtag #RejectedStarWarsTitles, with users giving suggestions of alternate names for the movie such as "Star Wars Episode 7: Two and a Half Ewoks", "Episode VII: Here Comes Honey Boba" and "Star Wars VII: How I Met My Father".

Directed by J.J. Abrams, the movie will see the return of Carrie Fisher, Harrison Ford and Mark Hamill, with several new faces joining them such as Adam Driver, Andy Serkis and Oscar winner Lupita Nyong'o.

"Star Wars: The Force Awakens" will rise in cinemas in December 2015.
