14 Jan – Alfred Hitchcock's classic "Strangers On A Train" is getting a remake and it will be done by none other than the lead actor, director and screenwriter of last year's "Gone Girl".

Ben Affleck, David Fincher and Gillian Flynn are teaming up once again for the upcoming project, Deadline reports. Warner Bros. Pictures are bringing back the trio to work on the remake which is reportedly titled "Strangers".

Hitchcock's 1951 film tells of how two strangers, a psychotic socialite and a pro tennis star, meet on a train and swap murders to avoid getting caught.

In Fincher's upcoming version, Affleck will reportedly be playing a movie star whose private plane broke down and has to hitch a ride with a wealthy stranger.

Affleck was last seen in the lead role of "Gone Girl", directed by Fincher with a script penned by Flynn, who adapted the script from her own novel of the same name. "Gone Girl" was released in North American cinemas on 3 October last year and has gone on to gross more than USD365 million worldwide.

Affleck will also be starring next as Batman in 2016's "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice".
