6 Mar – 72-year-old American actor, Harrison Ford has been admitted to a hospital after crash-landing in a vintage two-seater private plane at Penmar golf course in Los Angeles today.

According to The Guardian, Ford's son, Chef Ben Ford said that his father's condition is currently stable and he is only suffering from lacerations to his face and possible fractures.

"At the hospital. Dad is ok. Battered, but ok! He is every bit the man you would think he is. He is an incredibly strong man," Ben wrote on Twitter while thanking others for their thoughts and good vibes for his father.

A witness told TMZ that he heard the engine sputter and realised a plane was crashing straight with a nose dive towards the 8th hole tee box.

"I was one of the first people to run from the hole toward the plane. Four to five men pulled the pilot out of the plane. They were concerned it would catch on fire."

The "Star Wars" actor had reported to the Santa Monica airport control tower after he realised the plane's engine failure. Ford was then requested to make an immediate return but crash-landed before he reached the runway.

Ford is a veteran aviator that has flown planes and helicopters before, and had experienced several plane crashes in the past.

He was the only occupant of the plane, a Ryan PT-22 Recruit, which was used for training during the second world war.
