Fan Bingbing makes Hollywood return with "Meg".

20 May – Chinese actress Fan Bingbing is set to make her Hollywood return with a new sci-fi thriller, "Meg".

As reported on Yibada, the actress will be working alongside action star Jason Statham in the movie, which was adapted from Steven Alten's novel of the same name.

With a storyline that centers on the pre-historic shark known as the megalodon, the movie tells the story of a former Naval captain and expert diver, Jonas Taylor (Statham), who has to come face to face with his past upon being hired by an oceanographer (Fan Bingbing) to assist in a risky rescue mission in the Mariana Trench.

The movie will be helmed by director Jon Turteltaub ("National Treasure") and is scheduled for a March 2018 release.

Meanwhile, Fan's upcoming Sino-American action comedy, "Skiptrace", co-starring Jackie Chan, is set to premiere in July.
