10 Feb – It's another goal for local movie, "Ola Bola"! The movie has now grossed RM8 million at the local box office.

The football-themed movie was able to achieve the number after just 13 days of showing in the cinemas.

The movie has continued to set one record after another since its release late last month.

Earlier, it managed to collect RM 2.5 million after only 4 days of screening in 126 cinemas all over Malaysia and Brunei.

If the number keeps growing, the movie just might be another highest-grossing movie for director Chiu Keng Guan, whose 2014 movie "The Journey" was previously the highest-grossing local movie of all time with its RM17.28 million collection, before being toppled by 2015's "Polis Evo", which currently holds the record with RM17.47 million.

"Ola Bola" follows a multicultural team of Malaysian football players in the '70s that struggle to overcome personal and collective hardships as a team. Together they create the most triumphant zero to hero story and gain a place at the Asian Games.

"Ola Bola" is also set to be screened at the upcoming Taipei Fantastic Golden Horse Film Festival from 8 to 17 April.
