Datuk Yusof Haslam has faith for the new movie to triumph over the second film's collection.

1 Nov – Renowned film producer Datuk Yusof Haslam has come forward to confirm that the third instalment of the "Abang Long Fadil" franchise will start production next year, in 2018.

The announcement of a third movie is made following the success of "Abang Long Fadil 2", directed by his son Syafiq Yusof, which has collected RM18.1 million.

"Abang Long Fadil 3" is expected to be made on a budget of RM4 million, and it is a present to the fans who have continuously given their support to the local Malay film industry.

"Filming is expected to begin after next year's Aidilfitri, which falls after the screening of Syafiq's seventh film "KL Special Force" in March 2018," he said to Harian Metro.

The Skop Production Sdn Bhd producer also added that the cost for the third movie will be higher than the second as it will feature more big names in the industry.

Shooting period will also be lengthened in favour of producing a higher quality work which could stand on a par with many Hollywood films.

Yusof also voiced his confidence that the third movie will be able to record a higher box office collection than its predecessor, "Abang Long Fadil 2".
