1 Nov – Fans have been anticipating the Hollywood big screen adaptation of the best-selling "Crazy Rich Asians" ever since it revealed its all-Asian ensemble as well as its filming locations in both Malaysia and Singapore.

And now, the countdown clock can begin as its studio has just revealed the movie's opening date.

Warner Bros. finally announced that the anticipated "Crazy Rich Asians" will be opening in North America on 17 August 2018, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The movie will debut alongside Focus Features' "Captive State", Aviron's "Three Seconds" and STXfilms' puppet comedy "The Happytime Murders" starring Melissa McCarthy and Maya Rudolph.

Directed by Jon M. Chu ("Now You See Me 2"), the upcoming film boasts a spectacular all-Asian cast which includes Malaysia's very own Michelle Yeoh, Singapore-based English-Malaysian Henry Golding, Constance Wu, Ken Jeong, Gemma Chan, Harry Shum Jr., Awkwafina and Jimmy O. Yang.

Based on the hit Kevin Kwan's novel, "Crazy Rich Asians" follows economics professor Rachel Chu (Wu) on her visit to her boyfriend Nick's (Goulding) hometown in Singapore. There, she discovers that Nick is actually from a very wealthy family, and soon finds herself the centre of the envy and hatred of Singapore's high society members.

The film is produced by Color Force's Nina Jacobson and Brad Simpson, and Ivanhoe President John Penotti, with Kwan serving as executive producer alongside Ivanhoe Chairman Robert Friedland.
