"What We Do in the Shadows" to be adapted for TV

Fans of the horror comedy will get to see their favourite vampires on FX next spring.

5 May – Horror comedy mockumentary "What We Do in the Shadows" is getting a TV adaptation, produced by the people behind the original movie.

Taika Waititi and Jemaine Clement, who both created the 2014 movie, are bringing the project to TV via FX after the channel ordered a 10-episode first season for a half-hour series following a pilot it received earlier this year, according to Variety.

""What We Do in the Shadows" only gets better with age thanks to this brilliant adaptation for television by co-creators Jemaine Clement and Taika Waititi," said FX's co-president of original programming Nick Grad.

The original movie starred Waititi, Clement, Jonathan Brugh, and Ben Fransham as vampires, while this TV adaptation will have Matt Berry, Kayvan Novak, Natasia Demetriou, and Harvey Guillen replacing them.

"What We Do in the Shadows" follows three vampires who live together and are trying to fit in the modern world but they struggle with mundane daily activities.

The series is scheduled to premiere in spring 2019.
