Movie buffs in Johor can now enjoy both Big Screen and MX4D halls at MBO Cinemas Bandar Dato' Onn.

7 Jun – With the arrival of the latest MBO cinema in Johor, movie buffs in the southern state can now enjoy two of the company's flagship offerings, Big Screen and MX4D.

"Two of our most technologically-advanced concepts, the Big Screen and MX4D are both major crowd-pullers across the country and we are excited to finally introduce them here for the locals to experience", said MBO's Chief Operating Officer, Cheah Chun Wai.

Featured for the first time in a Johor cinema, namely MBO Cinemas Bandar Dato' Onn, these halls promise to deliver immersive moviegoing experience for cinema patrons.

Movie fans who enjoy an expansive view accompanied by top notch audio, the Big Screen hall will be a real treat as it features a floor-to-ceiling screen and comes equipped with Dolby Atmos immersive audio technology.

As the name states, the Big Screen hall has a big floor-to-ceiling screen for total ocular immersion.

For those who are looking forward to feeling even more involved with the movie they're watching, the MX4D is the perfect choice as it features 4D motion seats that react and respond in real time to the movie scenes onscreen.

Some of MX4D® Seat EFX are Rumbler, Water Blast, Back Poker, Leg Ticklers and Air Blast. Meanwhile, the MX4D® Theatre EFX include special effects like Wind, Scent, Strobe, Fog and Bubbles.

Other than just viewing and listening, moviegoers will get to feel and smell the movie too!

Out of the 5 halls at the new cinema, 4 are special halls. Aside from the abovementioned 2, there are also 2 MBO Kecil halls.

It is the first MBO location in the southern region to feature 2 MBO Kecil halls under one roof.

The young ones can play around during the movie in the fun MBO Kecil halls.

"We were the first cinema chain in the country to introduce the family-friendly cinema hall concept through KECIL and we always knew that it was a gamechanger, redefining the way parents and children interacted with each other at the movies," said Cheah.

Designed specifically for families with young children, the halls are equipped with brighter lights, softer audio, family beds and beanies, and a playground in the cinema halls.

Cinema patrons also have an array of movie snacks to pick from at the concession zone.

Located on the second floor of AEON Bandar Dato' Onn, the new MBO cinema has a seating capacity of 663 and marks the 26th MBO location in Malaysia.

It is the sixth MBO cinema in Johor, as the southern state also houses MBO Cinemas Kluang Mall, MBO Cinemas U Mall, MBO Cinemas KSL City, MBO Cinemas Heritage Mall, and MBO Cinemas Square One.
