"Alamak Toyol" and "Hantu Tok Mudim".
"Kami Histeria" is the first film by director Shamyl Othman, though he already has the experience in the director's chair, producing Red Communications dramas like "Blogger Boy", "Waktu Rehat", "Sadiq & Co" and much more.
It turns out that the experience and talent possessed by this new director appears to get itselfmany compliments for this mostly love-themed horror comedy masterpiece.
According to the director, in addition to a fairly interesting story, "Kami Hysteria" also anchored a talented cast of local actors who were committed to their jobs and characters, and this writer quite agrees with what he said.
The film tells the story of five teenage girls, led by Laila (guitarist and vocalist), Bad (lead guitarist) Peanut (bass guitarist), Airin (keyboardist) and Jojo (drummer) who joined the band aptly titled "Kami Histeria".
While busy recording their song, they hear a strange voice recorded and it was even more surprising when the song became popular and many sought after it when it was uploaded into YouTube.
Starring Diana Danielle as Laila , Mila Jirin (Airin) , Nad Zainal (Peanut) , Sara Ali (Bad) and Umie Salwana Omar (Jojo), "Kami Histeria" was reinforced by the emergence of Nur Faruza who plays the mysterious voice .
Creidt should be given to Fazura for strong acting and she managed to bring the character to life . Plus, it was highly entertaining with the specific accent she brought into the voice.
The film, produced by Astro Shaw in collaboration with Marna Films and Film Red, cost about RM2 million, also starring popular actors Izzue Islam and Afdlin Shauki.
Overall, this writer is satisfied with the work and this could become one of the most successful films for 2014!Cinema Online, 28 January 2014
