Built by the Cathay Organization in 1936, the standalone Odeon Cinema is one of the last few surviving colonial buildings in Kuala Lumpur. It has undergone various changes and a large part of the building is now a shopping arcade selling snacks, clothes and electronic goods. The last known management on the premises was Pyramid Saimira Theatre Chain in 2010 but it has recently been acquired by Antenna Entertainments and reopened to the public on 27 May 2011 after much renovation and beautification works.
