1. How do I register as a Cinema Online member?
Answer:
Click the "Register" link on the main page (www.cinema.com.my) to register as a member. Membership is free.

2. How do I edit/update my member profile?
Answer:
Log in using your member ID & password and click on the "Update profile" link to edit or update your profile.

3. How do I cancel my registration from Cinema Online?
Answer:
For security reasons, we are not able to change the status of your membership or delete members on request. If you would like to edit your profile on your membership records, you can log in and make the necessary changes. If you do not wish to receive our e-mail updates, you may un-check the mailer option.

4. Where can I use my complimentary / open passes?
Answer:
Refer to the passes and look for a name of a cinema chain, cinema location or a specific movie:
  • If any cinema is stated, then it can be used in the stated in the cinema chain or location respectively, for any movie.
  • If any movie title is mentioned and no cinema name is mentioned then it can be used at any cinema as long as the stated movie is still showing, and is valid for the stated movie only.
  • If the pass is a film distributor’s pass without cinema name or movie name, then it can be used for all movie distributed by the stated film distributor in any cinema.
5. Why is the selection of movies in cinemas sometimes limited?
Answer:
Due to the limited number of screens in many cinemas and the volume of movies each week, the final choice of which movies play in which cinemas is often determined by choice of titles that will serve a larger majority, i.e. movies that will fill the hall faster/fuller. In doing so, many other worthy movies do often get left out.

6. How do I know if my sms contest entry sent is successful?
Answer:
There will be a standard reply sms once your entry is successfully sent.

7. How could I cancel my ticket reservation?
Answer:
No cancellation is needed. If it is not collected within 45 minutes of Showtime, it will be released for public purchase at the counter.

8. Which cinema website can I make online reservation and online purchase?
Answer:
Sites to visit for online reservation and purchase include the following. Just follow the guides:
  • www.cinema.com.my (for GSC reservation)
  • www.gsc.com.my (for GSC reservation and purchase)
  • www.tgv.com.my (for TGV reservation)
  • www.cathaycineplexes.com.my (for Cathay reservations)
9. Does Malaysia play Hindi Movies? Which are the cinemas who play Hindi movies?
Answer:
Most large cinemas and Cineplex’s will play popular Hindi movies when they come. On www.cinema.com.my, you may be interested to check out the following cinema chains that do play Hindi movies more often, by selecting on our showtimes menu on the left bar:
  • Pawagam Iswaria
  • Lotus Five Star
10. Does Cinema Online have a privacy policy and enough security measures for member to register without worrying that member's profile will be stolen?
Answer:
Member's profile and personal records on www.cinema.com.my are kept with confidentiality and is only used with authorization from members. Membership is required for the following:
  • posting on the forum, where only your member-ID will be displayed and not your name nor other personal particulars
  • entering contests, where winners will be selected based on answers and not on personal particulars
  • winning contests, where winners lists will be published using full name and not IC numbers
  • redeeming of prizes, where IC has to be shown for identity verification for collection validity
  • receiving of update/promotional mailers, where members have a choice of whether to receive mailers or not
  • cinema ticket reservation, where IC number is needed for identity verification in case of dispute or investigation
In all the above uses for personal details of our members, your IC number is not given out to any external party. Cinema Online is responsible for the privacy of records of all Cinema Online members. Cinema Online has maintained a safe and professional environment for its members for all its 10 years, and will continue to maintain it.

11. How do I check the upcoming movies?
Answer:
You can find the release dates of movies in Malaysia on www.cinema.com.my. Just click on the "Movies" on the top menu bar and click on "Coming Soon" at the "Now Showing" section to find the release dates of the upcoming movies.

12. I would like to check the ticket pricing at a particular cinema and the special offers too, where can I get the information?
Answer:
Ticket pricing for various categories can be found for most cinemas by following the directions below:
  • Visit www.cinema.com.my
  • click on the "Cinemas" link on the Showtimes box
  • click on the cinema of your choice
13. My ID is XXX. I have found someone posting messages under my ID. Is it possible to change?
Answer:
It is possible that another same characters are different although they appear similar.
E.g.: Capital “O” and number zero, Capital “i” and small “L” and number “1”, etc.

14. How to use the compare feature in showtimes section?
Answer:
Select your first cinema or movie and click on the “go” button. Once the showtimes is listed for your selected movie or cinema, select your next movie or cinema, check the “compare” box and click on “go”. Showtimes listings for both your selected cinemas or movies will appear side by side.

15. Where Is Cinema Online office? How do I get there?
Answer: No: 7A, Jalan SS4D/2,

16. What are the days and time I can redeem my prizes from Cinema Online office?
Answer:
Mondays to Fridays (9.30am – 6.00pm) Lunch break (12.30pm – 1.30pm)

17. How I do request prizes to be sent to me and how much is the charges?
Answer:
Prizes consisting of movie passes can be sent by Pos Malaysia. All you have to do is reply with the following details to marketing@cinema.com.my
  • Handphone number
  • IC Number
  • Full name
  • Postal address
If prize is a physical item that cannot be posted by regular envelope, we will use poslaju and pack it accordingly. The cost of postage will be borne by the prize winner and there will be a RM10 fee is for such packaging and delivery arrangements.
Please note that Cinema Online will not be responsible for delays, damage or loss during transit.

18. How do I know if the prizes have redemption deadline and do I get replacement?
Answer:
Please be advised that complimentary passes are only valid until certain period of time. Please arrange to collect the said tickets as soon as possible to avoid disappointment. No replacement of tickets will be entertained.

19. Can someone redeem my prizes on my behalf?
Answer:
Yes, the winner may authorize someone to redeem the prizes on their behalf but provided that the person must bring along a photocopy of the winner's IC during redemption at our office.

20. How many passes can I redeem for a screening?
Answer:
You may redeem 2 tickets with 1 redemption password provided to you. The validity of your redemption passwords may vary from promotion to promotion. You may redeem any Cinema Online screening tickets during the period mentioned.

21. How will the seating be allocated?
Answer:
The seating is allocated on a first come first served basis on the day of the screening, and seating is numbered.

22. Do I need to show / bring a magazine to redeem this passes?
Answer:
You don't have to show any Cinema Online magazine but you have to print out the confirmation email that you received when you have successfully redeemed the selected screening tickets.

23. Can I reserve my tickets through Cinema Online?
Answer:
Yes, you can but currently, Cinema Online system only allows reservation for GSC Cinemas.
