Watch this if you liked: "House Of 1000 Ghosts", "Kung Fu vs. Acrobat", "Beauty And The 7 Beasts"

Here's another movie that defies all star rating logic. It's actually quite a relief to watch an old school Hong Kong movie after so many lacklustre hybrids and hastily made international projects that seem to clog up the market these days. "The Vampire Who Admires Me", also known as "My Secret Admirer Is A Vampire" is produced by none other than Wong Jing, that man whom we owe so much to for those enjoyable early CAT III movies back before the Handover.

His prodigy director Cub Chien seems to have outdone the master in this thoroughly fun movie, what with the bikini chicks and intentionally cheap horror FX, using at least one of the girls from "Beauty And The 7 Beasts" to boost visuals. There's a lot of skin to look at - but unlike that previous Eric Tsang-starrer which contained just as much naughtiness - "Vampire" has superior humour.

Not that you have to thank any of the girls for it. They're young, they're hot, they're ridiculously dumb and they have huge breasts hidden behind poor excuses called bikinis, while running away from a vampire king under even more ridiculous circumstances. Job well done, then. Don't you miss the CAT III films? We'll have to settle. The humour falls on Roger Kwok and Xia Yu, who provide some much-missed old school classic horror humour throughout the adventure of defending the girls. The story never gets slow and it looks like they know precisely when to cut their losses.

"The Vampire Who Admires Me" will never be a classic in these times - but it's something you will not regret paying money for if you really miss those unpretentious horror comedies with jumping vampires that we haven't seen for a while now.

Boys, just don't let your date catch you ogling at Ankie Beileke's exotic looks - or the extended footages of bouncing breasts for that matter.
