"Delhi-6" tells the story of a grandson who brings back his ailing grandmother from America to the streets of Delhi as her dying wish. In the process, the grandson learns to love the far-from-perfect city that he had grown estranged from. Along the way, there is the introduction of a faceless criminal known as the Black Monkey, who attacks the people in the area.

Abhisek Bachan who plays the NRI boy Roshan, handles the lead character very well. His good command of English will definitely catch the attention of the audience. Sonam Kapoor on the other hand, looks very fresh from her first movie "Saawariya" but her character wasn't explored much. Veterans like Rishi Kapoor and Waheeda Rahman give wonderful supporting roles too.

Some credit definitely is due to the director for pulling off some intense scenes wonderfully. Sadly, the plot was confusing at times. Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra perhaps didn't have the right ingredients to improve the story. AR Rahman's offbeat tracks do help though. It can't be said that this is his best work but what the movie wanted to convey, AR Rahman's score complemented.

The only excellent thing about this movie is the cinematography. Binod Pradhan does a fantastic job in showcasing the depth of everyday life on the streets of Chandni Chowk. A lot of rich detail about the people and the place are revealed here so if you are planning to visit Delhi soon, you could even use this movie as a guide.

"Delhi 6" is a good try to present something out of the norm but the movie still fails to make an impression. After a while, the pace is lost and the storyline heads nowhere. Perhaps with a better climax, the movie would have done more damage.
