Watch this if you liked: "Fantastic Four", "Spider-Man"
"Kapoww!! Atoi The Ajaib Boy" is the perfect choice if you are in the mood for comedy. It's easy to assume that the film is similar to the "Cicak-Man" franchise, but contrary to that, this graphic comic film has a superhero unlike any other. It serves as continuity to the existing "Kapoww!!" television series that was aired prior to the feature film release.
Atoi (Zizan of "Raja Lawak") is a village boy who dreams of being a superhero with extraordinary powers. His dreams suddenly come true when he was struck by lightning that gave him super powers. When news of this incident spread around, he was brought to the city by the Superhero Malaysia Association to help fight crime. Being a lad from the village, Atoi experiences a culture shock until he forgets his duty as a superhero and his loved ones back home.
The film places emphasis on the comedy element, humorous dialogues and a more light-hearted storyline, which seems nonsensical at times.
Making his film debut, Zizan's performance should be praised as his acting seems pretty relax and not overdone. Previously, this aspiring actor has made a name for himself in the reality television series "Raja Lawak". This film boasts a famous cast namely Bell Ngasri, Afdlin Shauki, Harun Salim Bachik and Awie too.
Director Azizi 'Chunk' Adnan presented his film well and does not seem to disappoint. With decent visual effects, an established cast plus jokes that will keep the audience entertained throughout the film, this is a must watch for all ages and for those who are hungry for a good local superhero film!
