"Captain Abu Raeb" is a touching movie about the life of an aging janitor Abu Raed (Nadim Sawalha) who works at the airport but in a twist of events, gets mistaken to be an airport pilot. The movie was submitted to the 81st Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film under the endorsement of The Royal Film Commission of Jordan.

The reviewer feels that the screenplay written by director Amin Matalqa was very good, as the transition of the movie was smooth, but was not paced properly as there were many subplots in the movie that could potentially damper the final message.

The reviewer feels that the acting by Nadim Sawalha who have appeared in dozen international cinematic productions like "The Lion and The Wind" (1975), Ian Fleming's "The Spy Who Loved Me" (1977), "The Nativity Story" (2006) and "Diana: Last Days of a Princess" (2007) to be brilliant as his portrayal of Abu Raeb.

Among the supporting cast, Ghandi Saber's portrayal of the abusive Abu Murad is haunting as he is able to portray the menacing abusive father who abuses his wife and children. The movie also stars Hussein Al-Souse, Udey Al-Qadise, Muhammad Qteishat, Lina Al-Tal, Ali Maher, Nadim Mushahwar and Rana Sultan.

Overall, "Captain Abu Raeb" is inspiring and a must watch with its one of a kind story that will be appreciated by those who can appreciate a different yet interesting story.
