Watch this if you liked: "Jangan Pandang Belakang Congkak", "Congkak"

If MIG Production has produced another horror comedy film, the reviewer wonders: "Can it be marketed in Malaysia?" By the time the movie was over, there was no doubt that it will entertain the moviegoers, especially the Malay audiences.

The movie's comedy elements were quite lighthearted, to the fact that it would be a forgettable movie. Once you've stepped out of the cinema, it'll be quite challenging to remember one or two funny scenes from "Jangan Pandang Belakang Congkak 2"!
The movie's just for random viewing pleasure, anyway.

"Jangan Pandang Belakang Congkak 2" or "JPBC2" picks up from where the first movie "Jangan Pandang Belakang" by Ahmad Idham. It tells the story about a 'congkak' that three cousins inherited from their grandfather. As the 'congkak' holds a 'saka' (a guardian ghost that is inherited by the old generation of the family to help take care of the family), they had to encounter terrible nightmares every night, while spirits constantly haunt them! The three cousins ended up asking for help from a 'bomoh' in the Northern Regions of Malaysia.

It feels as if the movie lost its shine when Shaheizy Sam didn't appear in "Jangan Pandang Belakang Congkak 2", due to rumours that he had already left to pursue his studies overseas. Nonetheless, Nora Danish's appearance as the daughter of the 'bomoh' Wak Ketari (Bob Kuman) who becomes Punai (Mazlan Pet Pet) and Asmat (Cat Farish) aide really helped liven up the movie. If it wasn't for Nora Danish, "Jangan Pandang Belakang Congkak 2" would have been a lackluster show.

There's also some musical elements incorporated in the film, but several scenes in the movie gives the impression of a 'Cat Farish-esque' music video! The reviewer feels that it's too draggy, though. Would the second sequel (if there's going to be any) be a musical for the director then? Only time will tell.
