Golmaal 3

Golmaal 3

After the success of "Golmaal" and "Golmaal Returns", director Rohit Shetty is back with yet another mindless comedy "Golmaal 3". The story centres on a family that eats together, prays together, lives together and a family that can't stand each other. Ajay reprises his role as the humorous Gopal while Kareena will play his neighbour, a tomboyish girl named Daboo. Ajay (Gopal) and Shreyas (Laxman) are siblings as are Tusshar (Lucky), Kunal (Laxman) and Arshad (Madhav). Shreyas doesn't get along with his brother and the whole comedy revolves around their animosity.

Watch this if you liked: “Golmaal”, “Golmaal Returns” & “All The Best”

The first ever Bollywood trilogy, "Golmaal 3" returns with a big bang with a bunch of wacky and wonderful cast.

Fans of aging Mithun Chakrovathy will not be disappointed as his loud and comic acting is fun to watch. Returning to his top form after "All The Best", Johnny Lever is simply superb in the role of a gangster who suffers from chronic memory loss, while Tushar Kapoor's own hilarious language of actions and gibberish words is equally commendable. Ajay Devgan ("All The Best"), Arshad Warsi ("Ishqiya"), Kunal Kehmu ("Superstar") and Shreyas Talpade ("Om Shanti Om") make a good team including Kareena Kapoor ("We Are Family"). The supporting cast equally contributes to the laughter such as Vrajesh Hirjee, Sanjay Mishra, Ashwini Kalsekar and Prem Chopra among others.

As "Golmaal 3" has no storyline, it relies majorly on the comic timing of its talented star ensemble and on its hilarious one liner dialogues. Director Rohit Shetty seems to love the comedy genre at the moment and this reviewer would hope to expect more from him in the near future.

Cinematography is almost the same as seen in its first two parts. The look and feel of the movie is nothing different from its earlier versions, which also makes it monotonous at times. Of course don't even bother for its action sequences. It is crazy and unlogical but then again, we are talking about Golmaal here (a mindless comedy after all). Meanwhile, music director Pritam delivers a weak soundtrack as compared to its previous films and the background music does not sound convincing either.

Some may argue that the first two versions are way better, but "Golmaal 3" does have its own moments. Funnily though, its predecessors did not even make it to Malaysian shores, but at least the third installment finally made it. The reviewer would not be surprised if there is another sequel on the way. Overall, a good watch for its crazy and funny cast.
