Writer Ratings:

Watch this if you liked: "The Hobbit" & "The Lord of the Rings"

The Good, the Bad and the End of the Middle Earth saga:

Just like the epic finale of "The Lord of the Rings" through "The Return of the King", the prequel of Middle Earth also has it very own grand farewell in the form of "The Battle of the Five Armies". It may be hard for non-fans to grasp the plot that is heavy with more than one sub-plot (Smaug's attack, Thorin's greed for gold, an elven love-triangle and more) but the end result is a dazzling CGI fest that seamlessly blends together for a hearty Middle Earth tale for all ages to enjoy. With the great battle scenes that takes up almost half of the movie's running time, "The Hobbit" series as pleasing as it is, is still no match to the memorable "Lord of the Rings" trilogy.

"The Battle of the Five Armies" suggests a battle between, men, orcs, elves, wizards and dwarves, but also look out for goblins, trolls, giants and eagles on the battle field.
