Watch this if you liked: "Sumpahan Kum Kum", "Mantera", and "Jangan Tegur", "Santau"

Director Ismail Bob Hasim's last film, "Sumpah Kum Kum" managed to achieve great success as it won the "Anugerah Film Takut Terhebat" (Best Horror Film Award) this year. Now, the director returns with his new horror film, "Paku Pontianak".

Ismail Bob Hasim created a horror film as he is confident that he could get good reactions out from audiences. To the reviewer, however, the storyline is rather boring and some scenes felt very long.

This film is about a villager named Adam (played by Pekin) who accidentally hits a girl on the road named Melati (played by Uqasha) on his way back from work one night. Out of guilt, Adam and his family request for Melati to stay with them.

It seemed that Melati has lost her memory and does not remember a thing. Yet, her arrival has caused strange and mysterious things to happen. It even makes Seri (played by Hidayah Samsudin), who had been romantically interested in Adam for quite sometime, to feel uncomfortable.

This film features a talented newcomer, Uqasha Senrose, as the lead actress and it is even better when she is paired up with another great actor, Pekin Ibrahim.

Unfortunately, Uqasha's acting is still rather stiff in this film. Despite that, she still deserves some praise for her attempt and hopefully she would show great improvements in her future films.

Other than Pekin and Uqasha, this film also has actors and actresses like Adida Yunus, Along Eyzendy and Hedayah Samsudin, who also manage to play their roles well. In fact, this film also has veteran talents such as Ruminah Sidek, Sidek Hussain, Roshidah Jaafar and Ruzaidi A. Rahman.

As a whole, the 80th film by MIG (Metrowealth Pictures) is not as disappointing as one might think. So, to all horror fans out there, don't miss the chance to watch "Paku Pontianak" on the big screen as it has already started screening since 22 August.
