Watch this if you liked: “I Hate Luv Storys”, “Swades” and “Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu”.

For those who were disappointed that Imran Khan and Kareena Kapoor (expanding the Khans name after marrying Saif Ali Khan) who did not end up together as lovers in their previous outing "Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu" (2012), fret not as "Gori Tere Pyaar Mein" (translated in English as "Crazy In Your Love, My Village Lady"), will finally bring them as lovers in the film.

Another interesting fact about the film is actually an autobiographical drama based on the true life experience of its film's director Punit Malhotra. As the story goes, it tells the story of a south Indian architect Sriram Venkat (Imran Khan) who goes a long way searching for his long lost love, a north Indian village girl name Dia Sharma and how things keep bringing them back together again and again. The story also shows how one can be a humble person by doing noble work and people really change their mindsets to be a better person.

Imran Khan portrayed the director's real life character at ease and provides some lover boy charm throughout the film and Kareena Kapoor (now Kareena Khan) looks stunning in her village avatar. Their on screen love chemistry will be much appreciated as Kareena felt like a good fit with Imran again. Shradda Kapoor plays a well deserved supporting role and when given a funny role, Anupam Kher shines as he entertains with his baddie madcap act.

Much to his personal life experiences, the director does convey and give hints of some hot topics in India today which are good for one to ponder. Some of the examples are when the village community look dejected when a village woman gives birth to a baby girl, where the lead character who is afraid of HIV-positive children, the cross cultural marriage between Punjabi and Tamil which is said to be taboo and of course the never ending illegal dowry issue. The plot in the first and second half is well executed it moves the story forward steadily. The cinematography of the village shots are quite colorful while the songs were just okay and it could have been done much better.

Overall, it has an appealing storyline, moderate humor and wit, the usual rom-com, and of course the usual drama in all Bollywood films done in Karan Johar style. Watch it without much expectations and you might just enjoy it.
