The Good, the Bad and the Live Doll: • The movie may not be scary enough for horror fanatics (it had after all been revised to better fit its PG13 rating) but some moments still held enough suspense for you to feel like something's about to scare you off your seats.
• Though at first watch, some of the details won't make sense after what was revealed in the second half, but if audiences were to count those simply as part of Greta's senses going haywire due to her fear of the doll, everything fits perfectly.
• Still, the story doesn't flow that smoothly at some parts, which will leave you wondering why the characters reacted the way they did when any other normal human being would've turned tail and run the moment those things happened - e.g. acting unbelievably nonchalant even after seeing the attic stairs pull up into the ceiling on its own right in front of their eyes.
• Also, sometimes the funny parts of the movie can leave you wondering whether those were intentional or unintentional.
• Given those facts, the cast still managed to pull off a good enough performance, especially for Lauren Cohan in her first horror movie lead role and Jim Norton and Diana Hardcastle as the elderly Mr. and Mrs. Heelshire.
Trivia: • Cast members used the doll to prank each other on the set. At one point, the doll was hurled out due to a prank and the crew had to make a replacement doll.
