Bad Genius

Lynn is a straight-A student who makes a quick buck by selling exam answers to other students. Her clients, Pat and Grace, convince her to sell the answers to the STIC, an international standardised test for students who wish to enrol in the world`s leading universities. The test is scheduled to take place at the same time and day all over the world, which means Lynn has to fly over to a country which has a time zone ahead of Thailand and send the answers back to her customers. The only problem is someone will need to take her place while she is away. Lynn only knows of one person who fits the bill, her scholarship-student rival, Bank, who just so happens to be openly against cheating.

The Good, the Bad and the Big Cheat:

• The movie uses the simple premise of cheating in a test into a movie so suspenseful and intense, even more so than a murder thriller.

• The narration of the story is detailed, convincing and entertaining, with plenty of twists and turns that keep on piling up throughout the story.

• The plot may not make sense, but writer-director Nattawut Poonpiriya makes the wrong seems right seems and also so reasonable that viewers can feel relatable to the story and characters.

• The line-up of new cast actually makes the story even more believable and compelling due to their rawness and awkwardness that shines throughout the movie.

Trivia:

• The father character of Lynn was played by the long lost Thai singer, Thaneth Warakulnukroh.
