The Good, the Bad and the Rising Nation:

Six different characters, six different stories, all striving towards the same goal: to see a better Malaysia.

Despite there being three directors helming six stories, the movie moves fluidly, the stories connect with one another seamlessly especially when they finally intertwine during the movie's climax.

Painting realistic portraits of various Malaysians and their actions leading up to arguably the most historic election to have ever taken place in the nation, audiences watching the movie feel drawn to it because there is a real connection between them and the characters.

Sacrificing for one's own country and upholding justice during the election are the two themes most prominent in the movie, also ones that make local audiences watching feel the most patriotic.

One of the characters highlighted in the movie is a foreign journalist played by Mark O'dea, through him we see how even foreigners are moved by the patriotism coursing through Malaysians' veins.

Shashi Taran, Sangeeta Krishnasamy, Jack Tan, Remy Ishak and Mira Filzah round up the main cast, each playing their own important part on the election day itself.

Though executed in a simple way, no flashy special effects needed, the movie conveys exactly what it means to convey: the sense of patriotism shared by Malaysians.

• After GE14 took place on 9 May 2018, the production cast and crew had only three months to finish "Rise: Ini Kalilah" before the movie hits theatres on Malaysia Day.
