9 Aug – It was a pleasant surprise for local talent Awal Ashaari as he was interrupted midway through lunch to be presented with a cake on his birthday, which coincided with the press announcement for his upcoming film "I'm Not Single". The actor-host-singer turned 26 on 6 August, 2007, and was visibly glad to receive the gesture from unidentified well-wishers at the function who 'conspired' for the effort at Lemon Restaurant, MetroPoint Kajang.
Director Pierre Andre was at hand earlier to explain about his new film. "I am very grateful but also very nervous to get this chance, considering my first movie, '9 September' has not even debuted at the box office! I am again sticking to romantic comedy as a genre and this film is going to highlight the funnier side of arranged marriages, something we no longer see these days."

The plot of "I'm Not Single", also known as "Aku Bukan Bujang", tells of a young couple, Maya (Lisa Surihani) and Adam (Farid Kamil), who loathe each other because they are forced into an arranged marriage by their parents. Maya's ailing grandmother wants her to marry as soon as possible, despite the fact that she already has a steady boyfriend, Dani (Awal Ashaari). Dani and Maya love each other and had even planned to marry previously. With the disturbing new development, Dani has to try and conjure up a way in order to pry Maya away from the dreaded arrangement.

The production cost for the movie is valued at RM 1.5 million and stars Farid Kamil, Intan Ladyana, Awal Ashaari and newcomer Lisa Surihani. The supporting cast consists Ahmad Idham, Cat Farish, Khatijah Tan, M. Rajoli. Azizah Mahzan, Yusni Jaafar and Hafidzudin Fadzil.
"I'm Not Single" or "Aku Bukan Bujang" is scheduled to start shooting in October 2007.
