Aaron Aziz, Nur Fazura and Maya Karin unite for the first time in "Pisau Cukur"

9 Nov – Following the success of low-profile "KAMI The Movie" which ended its run last month with a modest collection of RM 1.4 million, co-producers Red Films and Primeworks Studio are back with their latest venture, a comedy flick called "Pisau Cukur". Adding to the portfolio of budding director Bernard Chauly, the movie looks rather controversial with its sensational title.

This is also the first time the two beauties Maya Karin and Nur Fazura share some onscreen time together, battling each other as gold diggers Bella and Intan. Caught at the filming location in Ampang Jaya, Kuala Lumpur recently, a jovial Nur Fazura admitted that playing Intan is a fun experience for her. "It's not a heavy role, but it requires me to appear flamboyant and classy throughout. I have to sustain my character with precision without overdoing it. Don't worry, this is just a role - not me in the real life!" said Fazura, denying any similarity between the role and her real life character.

Playing opposite her is the Best Actress winner from this year's Malaysia Film Festival (FFM 21) Maya Karin. As Bella, Maya claimed that the acting experience is wonderful as she learned many new things and acting techniques. "Even though the story deals with comedic element, it requires me to get it spot on. Bernard is very particular about the expression. I guess my biggest challenge so far would be the dancing scene where I had to do a lot of rehearsal beforehand.

Here we come to hunt our prey" (L-R): Nur Fazura & Maya Karin

Bernard Chauly returns at the director's seat after "Gol & Gincu" and "Goodbye Boys"

"Pisau Cukur" is derived from the Malay expression meaning 'gold digger'. The story, which is penned by Rafidah Abdullah from 2005's "Gol & Gincu" fame, will follow two gold-digging girls and three Datuks as their prey, as they get trapped on a luxury cruise ship.

The current filming in Port Dickson, Negeri Sembilan and around Kuala Lumpur also assembles actors like Aaron Aziz, Eizlan Yusof, Dato' Rahim Razali, Riedza Minhat, Khatijah Tan, Umie Aida, Sharifah Sofia and many others. The film is due for 2009 release.
