22 Sep – Forumers who started online petitions in favour of "Twilight" now have something to cheer: the release of the maligned vampire romance flick have been tentatively re-set as 27 November 2008, just a week after its U.S. release.

According to Sanjay Makhijani for Malaysian distributor Tayangan Unggul, the previous March 2009 release date is now scrapped and the movie is being brought forward, in light of the response from its avid fans. Cinema Online helped convey the enthusiasm of local fans of the popular franchise to the distributor, after receiving many phone calls and e-mails regarding the movie.

Twilight is a popular book series for young adults by Stephenie Meyer, seen by many as rival to the Harry Potter franchise. The film adaptation had in fact taken over the release date of "Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince" in the U.S. when Twentieth Century Fox deferred the sixth Potter movie.

"Twilight" is set to play nationwide on 28 November 2008.
