29 Jul - Malaysian-born director Tsai Ming-Liang is currently working on a new movie called "Visages" (Face). The Louvre Museum project will commence shooting in November 2008 on location at the famed Paris museum.
The film will feature Tsai's staple actor Lee Kang Sheng, not to mention veteran French stars Fanny Ardant and Jean-Pierre Leaud together with Laetitia Casta, the supermodel-cum-actress. Tsai's own Taiwanese label, Homegreen Films, is co-producing it alongside Jacques Bidou and Marianne Dumoulin's Paris-based JBA Production.

According to the Tsai's production house, "Visages" would easily find distribution in Singapore. However, it is uncertain if the film will make its way into Malaysian cinemas. Last year, Tsai was at the Cineleisure Damansara premiere of "I Don't Want To Sleep Alone" and voiced his disappointment with Malaysia's strict censorship system, having agreed to endorse a specially-cut version just for its Malaysian release.
Recently, Tsai and his crew finished shooting a 33-minute movie at Puduraya and a nearby budget hotel in Kuala Lumpur. Starring "I Don't Want To Sleep Alone" actress Pearlly Chua, the film is called "Madame Butterfly". According to Homegreen's producer Leonard Tee, it is a tribute to composer Puccini's 150th anniversary and the movie will be screened at the Lucca Film Fest 2008 in Italy come November.
