Celebrity mother's day!

This Mother's Day we are focusing on celebrities who have become mothers of their own and how are they coping with stardom and parenthood. Some celebrity mums are being praised for raising their kids so well and some have us questioning their mummy capabilities.

Nicole Kidman

Happily married to country singer Keith Urban, this doting mother skipped Oscars this year to spend more time with her daughter Sunday Rose. Nicole once told People that she love watching her kids become of who they are. She also revealed that 21-month-old Sunday Rose touches her heart to say 'love you' and it brings both Keith and her to their knees every time. Meanwhile, has she forgotten about her two adopted children, Isabella and Connor from her previous marriage with Tom Cruise? Apparently, they call Nicole by her first name and refer to Katie Holmes as 'mom'.

Nicole Richie

The Simple Life" star has undergone an abrupt change when she met her current boyfriend Joel Madden, vocalist for Good Charlotte in 2006. It was surprising news when she gave birth to daughter, Harlow Winter Kate two years ago, but she and Madden are still going on strong with the birth of their seven-month-old son, Sparrow James Midnight. In year 2008, Richie and Madden launched the Richie-Madden Foundation, a charity that supports families and children in need. Nicole recently announced her engagement with Joel but they have no plans to tie the knot at the moment.

Demi Moore

47-year-old Demi Moore has three daughters with her ex-husband Bruce Willis named Rumer, Scout and Tallulah. Bruce is getting along well with Demi's current husband, Ashton Kutcher. She revealed that she would like to have a baby with Ashton if the timing is right. As Demi tells Elle UK, "He's an amazing father to my daughters already, so I have no doubt that if it's in our future, it would be another incredible part of our journey together." Demi puts her children before anything else in her life and as she said on 'Friday Night With Jonathan Ross', "The most important thing is to make your kids your priority, so it becomes very easy."

Julia Roberts

Julia Roberts and Daniel Richard Moder has been married for eight years and are blessed with three children - five-year-old twins, Hazel and Phinnaeus "Finn" Moder and two-year-old son, Henry Daniel Moder. In 2008, Julia became a full time SAHM (Stay At Home Mother) as she wanted to focus on raising her three kids. A devoted mother, who dyed a small patch of her hair pink because her daughter think she should, Julia Roberts is indeed 'the role mother' that we are proud to feature in our list of celebrities turned mothers. She'll grace the big screen in the upcoming "Eat, Pray, Love" as Elizabeth Gilbert, a woman who travels to Italy, India, and Indonesia after her divorce.

Julianna Margulies

Julianna Margulies never planned to have children but all that changed in 2007 when the actress found out she was pregnant and later Kieran Lindsay Lieberthal was born. She admitted that most of the time, she was working 16 hours a day, fully aware that she does not spend much time with her son. Consequently, she brings him along to the set whenever she can. They both love their son very much but he won't be getting a baby brother or sister anytime soon. Sad!

Halle Berry

Halle Berry told Oprah Winfrey she was convinced that motherhood was meant for her after her role as a mother in "Things We Lost in the Fire." She gave birth to her daughter, Nahla in 2008 after dating French-Canadian model, Gabriel Aubry for about three years. For those who believe that her daughter's name was taken from "The Lion King" movie, unfortunately there is no relation as 'Nahla' is of Arabic origin. Sources confirmed that Halle had only just split up with her partner Aubry and is planning to share 50/50 custody. Poor Nahla!

Jamie Lynn Spears

The whole world was surprised to hear that Jamie Lynn was pregnant at 16-years-old. This sensational news really made parents sit up straight and wonder what teenagers are up to these days! The father of her daughter, Maddie Briann is Casey Aldridge whom she first met at church and has been dating for some time. After she split up with Casey, she's currently dating 28-year-old businessman, James Watson. There are rumours stating that Casey, her daughter's biological father is trying to attain custody and is planning to take his ex to court for monetary gain. This might turn out to be another 'Kevin Federline' case to plague the Spears family. Hit Me Baby, One More Time?

Gwyneth Paltrow

Married to Coldplay frontman, Chris Martin since 2003, they both have two healthy children, six-year-old Apple Blythe Alison Martin and five-year-old Moses Bruce Anthony Martin. Since giving birth to Apple, she has been putting her family as first priority. Just last April 2010, she decided to pull out of a movie in order to spend more time with her family. According to her, "It's probably not the best thing for your career, but my kids are my priority. They need me at home." More good news to come, Gwyneth announced that she would love to have another child! Meantime, catch her in "Iron Man 2" as Virginia Pepper Potts.

Katie Holmes

Of all the celebrity children, Suri Cruise is one of the most fashionable babies who has been clad in all sorts of designer wear, sometimes upstaging Mommy Katie and Daddy Tom! But who cares when your parents are one of Tinseltown's richest stars? Tom Cruise allegedly has spent US$3 million on his daughter's wardrobe. Now that's designer money! Nowadays, Katie seems to be shedding her movie star image and is known to most people as Mrs Cruise or Suri's mother. But she looks as if she is content with her life at the moment by putting her daughter as her first priority. Meantime, TomKat agree that it is the right time to plan for another baby. Would we get another overly pampered baby Cruise?

Angelina Jolie

This multitasking "Tomb Raider" mom has six children! Three with her partner Brad Pitt, Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt and her twins Vivienne Marcheline and Knox Leon Jolie-Pitt. She also has adopted three other kids from different countries and they are Maddox Chivan, Zahara Marley and Pax Thien Jolie-Pitt. Angelina is not planning to stop at six kids as she has reportedly said that Brad and her wants up to 14 kids. If that happens, poor Brad would need to work more just to support their 'army of kids'!
