5 reasons "Fantastic Beasts" will get Harry Potter fans excited

Wands out for "Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them".

Believe it or not, it has been five years since "Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows: Part 2" ended in 2011. But the day of watching all the wizards and magic on the big screen are far from over. With "Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them" arriving this 17 November, the upcoming movie is set to rule the worldwide box office once again. Expectations are naturally high and here are the five reasons why Harry Potter fans will be thrilled for the new movie.

1. Experience the expanded wizarding world beyond the "Harry Potter" series

Set 70 years before the events of Harry (Daniel Radcliffe), Ron (Rupert Grint) and Hermoine (Emma Watson), fans and audiences get to see what lies beyond the "Harry Potter" series and the famous Hogwarts setting. Apart from introducing new characters and stretching the wizarding world in "Fantastic Beasts", setting the movie in 1920s New York is undoubtedly a refreshing change of pace. If that's not enough, we even get to learn about the American wizarding school as well.

2. Two words: Eddie Redmayne

Although Eddie Redmayne had his bad moments (remember "Jupiter Ascending"?), his overall track record as an actor so far remains impressive. Best known for playing Stephen Hawking in "The Theory Of Everything", for which he won a Best Actor Oscar, it's finally nice to see the 34-year-old British actor given the opportunity to play a lead role in a high-profile studio movie. Given his effortless charm and great acting skills, Redmayne looks set to attract sizable fans and audiences as the magizoologist Newt Scamander in "Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them". If he is as good as the "Fantastic Beast" trailers, we might even get ourselves a new favourite movie wizard since Daniel Radcliffe in the "Harry Potter" series.

3. J.K. Rowling is the screenwriter

That's right, the prolific "Harry Potter" author herself is writing her first movie screenplay for "Fantastic Beasts"! But rather than adapting directly from her brief book itself, the movie will offer an original story set within the wizarding world of the Harry Potter universe. Not surprisingly, it would be interesting to see what Rowling has in store for both fans and audiences.

4. David Yates is the director

Even though Chris Columbus, Alfonso Cuaron and Mike Newell have had their fair share directing the "Harry Potter" series, it was David Yates that many fans and audiences remember the most. He did such a great job helming the last four "Harry Potter" movies that it left both fans and audiences in awe. Now, with Yates returning for "Fantastic Beasts", the movie is in no doubt in safe hands.

5. More magic and loads of wonderful creatures!

If the trailers are any indication, "Fantastic Beasts" is going to be visually spectacular. Expect more magic tricks and spells this time around. Plus, there will be plenty of magical creatures featured in this movie as well, ranging from the Furby-like Demiguise to the winged serpent of Occamy. Best of all, with the special effects technology advancing throughout the years since the last "Harry Potter" movie back in 2011, it would be an epic cinematic experience watching this on the big screen!

"Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them" opens in cinemas nationwide on 17 November 2016.
