All good things must come to an end, and this certainly rings true for "X-Men: Apocalypse". After effectively resetting the timeline to start things afresh in "X-Men: Days Of Future Past", director Bryan Singer is finally closing the chapter in apocalyptic proportions (pun intended). As one of this year's most anticipated summer blockbusters, here are the five reasons why you should watch the upcoming "X-Men" movie. 1. The Introduction of Apocalypse
Forget about Magneto or Colonel William Stryker. In this final chapter of the "X-Men: First Class" trilogy, we finally get to see the major big bad ever witnessed in the "X-Men" universe. We are talking none other than En Sabah Nur himself, or better known as Apocalypse. Best recognised for being the world's first mutant, Apocalypse is a supervillain with various superpowers. Among them is an ability to grow larger, which can be seen in the recent "X-Men: Apocalypse" trailer. On top of that, it was nice to see current in-demand character actor Oscar Isaac ("Ex Machina", "Star Wars: The Force Awakens") play the pivotal role as Apocalypse. No doubt this is easily his biggest (literally and figuratively) mainstream role to date in his illustrious acting career. 2. This is a final chapter
After successfully re-igniting the waning "X-Men" franchise (no thanks to Brett Ratner's franchise killer of "X-Men: The Last Stand") with Matthew Vaughn's acclaimed prequel of "X-Men: First Class" and followed by a more successful "X-Men: Days Of Future Past", original franchise director Bryan Singer is wise enough to close the chapter by using the famous 1980s "Apocalypse" storyline as the main focal point for this latest movie. Since "X-Men: Apocalypse" is also the final chapter of a prequel trilogy, you can expect that Singer is pulling all stops to deliver the most spectacular "X-Men" movie ever made. 3. More fresh "X-Men" characters
Not only do we get to see the recurring characters such as Magneto, Professor X, Mystique and Beast back in action, but "X-Men: Apocalypse" will also feature new (younger) additions including Jean Grey (Sophie Turner), Storm (Alexandra Shipp), Jubilee (Lana Condor) and Nightcrawler (Kodi Smit-McPhee). And best of all is the current fan-favorite character of Psylocke, which is finally brought to life by actress Olivia Munn. On top of that, it's nice to see her picture-perfect costume is as accurate as the comic-book version itself! 4. Director Bryan Singer
Apart from Matthew Vaughn in "X-Men: First Class", Bryan Singer is forever remembered as the one who successfully brought the X-Men to cinematic life. After all, he is credited as one of the Hollywood directors who revived the superhero movie with "X-Men" (2000) and the acclaimed sequel, "X2: X-Men United" (2003). Let's not forget he still had what it takes to make a great "X-Men" movie via "X-Men: Days Of Future Past" (2014). 5. Big-scale action sequences
The "X-Men" movie franchise is no stranger to large-scale action sequences, with "X-Men: The Last Stand" being a prime example. But with Apocalypse being the major villain in this movie, "X-Men: Apocalypse" is bound to offer something bigger and more excitement in an epic proportion. Here's hoping the actual product itself delivers all the huge promise shown in the action-packed trailers. "X-Men: Apocalypse" opens in cinemas nationwide on 19 May 2016.
