With most of the cinematic blockbusters of this year delayed to next year, the only entertainment reprieve that's left is the new exciting programs delivered by the various OTT services available to us. This October brings us many titles that've captured our curiosity. This comedy series is created by producer Darren Star who also worked on "Beverly Hills, 90210" and "Sex and the City". Actress Lily Collins plays Emily, a twenty-something American woman who moves to Paris for a job. It explores her life in a foreign country, her relationships and unexpected clash of cultures.
Two years ago, "The Haunting of Hill House" on Netflix was met with rave reviews. Now the team behind the hit 2018 series are back with a brand-new story based on the 1898 horror novel, The Turn of the Screw. A young governess is hired to watch over the niece and nephew of a man in a country house at the haunted Bly estate. Former "the Haunting of Hill House" alumni Victoria Pedretti plays the governess while Henry Thomas and Oliver Jackson-Cohen also return in completely different roles.
"Split" actress Anna Taylor-Joy ventures into a Cold War era series about an orphaned chess prodigy. It explores how she copes with her drug and alcohol addiction whilst trying to be the best chess player in the world from Kentucky to Moscow - making the 7-hour miniseries totally worth the binge.
Nicole Kidman and Hugh Grant in a thriller series together? Where do we sign up? "The Undoing" is about a successful therapist who suddenly faces a violent death in her life and a missing husband who seems to have had many secrets kept hidden from her. As she slowly unravels them all, she has to find a way to keep her and her child's life together in the midst of disaster.
A paranormal investigation series with a comedy twist brought to you by Simon Pegg and Nick Frost best known from the cornetto trilogy. In "Truth Seekers", a group of paranormal investigators in the UK find their supernatural experiences becoming more and more frequent.
