1 Dec - Big Cinemas new 7-screen cineplex at Batu Pahat Mall will open in the second week of December 2008 to coincide with local blockbuster "Cicak-Man 2: Planet Hitam", according to a source from Lotus Five Star. Located on Jalan Kluang, the four-storey mall opened in 2007. Big Cinemas' last addition to its ever-growing stable was Big Cinemas Alor Star in Kedah, which opened for business on 15 November last month. Currently cinema-goers in Batu Pahat and surrounding areas are only served by a 3-screen GSC in Summit Parade which has long been the only cineplex in town. In addition to this, MBO Cinemas too will be opening their 5th cineplex in Carrefour Batu Pahat within the next few weeks, as it could already be nearing advanced stages of completion by now.
