13 Jan – MBO Cinemas is set to add another option for Batu Pahat cinemagoers this 22 January 2009 with the opening of its fifth outlet nationwide, the 8-screen MBO Batu Pahat next to Carrefour Hypermarket. Previously, cinemagoers in Batu Pahat and surrounding areas were only served by a 3-screen GSC in Summit Parade which has long been the only cineplex in town, before the recently opened 7-screen Big Cinema (also known as Lotus Five Star) outlet in Batu Pahat Mall came into play last December 2008. This development makes it two new cinema outlets in two months for the Johor locale. According to CEO and Managing Director of MBO Cinemas Mr. Toh Kim Hock: "The public will be able to watch previous blockbusters on a test run starting this Sunday, 18 January 2009. Tickets will be a nominal RM2 and there will be some promotions to let people know about our exciting new outlet". The public will be able to enjoy movies like "The Dark Knight", "Money No Enough 2" and "Quantum Of Solace" according to him. The last MBO outlet that was opened was the 6-screen MBO Seremban in October 2008. MBO Cinemas' next location is at Harbour City Klang, to open before mid-2009.
