3 Jul – Released on 1 July, "Ice Age: Dawn Of The Dinosaurs" is freezing audiences into cinema seats along with its new enhanced digital 3-D visual effects feature and the newly discovered underground world of dinosaurs, ensuring that the franchise is kept fresh and exciting. "Ice Age: Dawn Of The Dinosaurs" is by far the only "Ice Age" film to be made into 3-D digital format and producer John C. Donkin said, "We wanted the 3-D to provide an enhanced experience, not THE experience. We're not doing the 'jab the audience in the eye with sticks and stuff' thing. It's not necessary as the movie and characters themselves will carry the moments."

Two-time Oscar®-winning sound designer Randy Thom's work further enhances the immersive experience. Thom, whose recent credits include the acclaimed animated features "Ratatouille," "Coraline" and "Dr. Seuss' Horton Hears a Who!," came up with unique dinosaur sounds – from the cute, baby dinos, to momma T-Rex, to the terrifying albino Baryonyx dino Rudy.

Besides the usual "Ice Age" heroes, the third instalment introduces new characters such as Scratte, Scrat's love interest and rival in the never-ending chase for the acorn; Buck, a one-eyed weasel who hunts for Rudy, the dinosaur that took his eye; and a variety of bone-crushing and plant chewing dinosaurs. Cinema Online "Ice Age 3" contest winners had a special preview screening of the movie in 3-D held at 1 Utama on 30 June 2009.

After the movie, we asked some of our viewers "What they thought of the movie, was it worth the watch in 3-D, and how many stars would they rate it out of 5".

Tan Kien Jean: I have not watched the first two films and as a first timer being introduced to this movie, it's great! I didn't expect a lot and it was a pleasure watching it in 3-D, such that it enhanced the visual effects. I would give 4 stars!

Goh Chee Kean: It was good! The story is very entertaining, funny and I loved the dinosaur world that was created. It was beautifully done. It's well worth watching in 3-D because it's a must see blockbuster animation. I'd give 4 stars!

Siti Aisyah Amir (right): I love all three of the "Ice Age" films and I can say that this is by far the most enjoyable one because the story is rich and it's in 3-D! It had a good level of suspense, humour and a wonderful bunch of new characters. I'd rate it with 4 stars!
