16 Mar – Barely six months into the opening of its fifth outlet nationwide in Batu Pahat, MBO Cinemas is to open its next location – an 8-hall cineplex in Kuching's largest lifestyle mall The Spring Shopping Centre.

According to MBO Cinemas Marketing Head Cheah Gim Hin, there will be a press confererence this Friday at the mall itself to announce the new partnership between the mall and the cinema chain. Spring Centre Assistant A & P Manager Irene Teo told Cinema Online that the cineplex is expected to be running by the end of May 2009.

The 3-storey mall, touted as the largest in Sarawak, opened officially in early January 2008. The new MBO cineplex would be the only other cinema in Kuching other than Star Cineplex Kuching and the outlet in Riverside Kuching which was recently passed on by Metrowealth to Lotus Five Star.
