27 Aug – Word from GSC headquarters is that the 9-screen GSC East Coast Mall in Kuantan, Pahang is to open by Raya season and that GSC was planning to expand its current facilities with some 24 multiplex screens at four locations, involving up to RM30 million. Meanwhile, the delayed 8-screen MBO The Spring in Kuching, Sarawak has a new opening date – 9 September 2009. These two locations will come as a treat to people celebrating Aidilfitri this season as they would be able to catch seasonal releases "Jin Notti" and "Momok The Movie" at a brand new cinema. In a related note, the 4-screen GSC Mahkota Parade ceased operations on 17 August 2009.
