11 Jan – Moviegoers in Malaysia got to catch three advance screenings of the "Percy Jackson & The Lightning Thief", "Valentine's Day" and "Little Big Soldier" just days before it goes nationwide during the Chinese New Year/Valentine's Day season. After the screening, Cinema Online asked them "What they thought of the movie and how many stars would they give it out of five." From "Harry Potter" director Chris Columbus, "Percy Jackson & The Lightning Thief" delivers a fantasy tale based on Rick Riordan's first novel in the Percy Jackson & The Olympians series and takes focus on Percy Jackson, son of Greek God Poseidon, who is accused of stealing Zeus' powerful lightning bolt. One viewer, Ong Suk Lian said, "The storyline was quite special, definitely different from other movies. The graphics were very nice and I'd give 4 stars to the movie because I really like it!" Another viewer, Jomey Ajmat said, "I'm a fan of Greek mythology, so this was quite interesting. I liked the special effects and the movie was better than "Harry Potter"! I'd give 3.5 stars."
Meanwhile, "Valentine's Day" is a captivating romantic comedy which throws in a cast of Hollywood names like Ashton Kutcher, Jamie Foxx, Julia Roberts, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Alba and more foretelling their Valentine's Day tale. Felicia Tan said, "Entertaining! Good show with lots of unique and funny characters. Ashton Kutcher's Valentine's Day scenario was the best amongst the others. I'd give 4 stars." Lastly, Jackie Chan's new adventure/comedy "Little Big Soldier," co-starring Jackie Chan and Wang Lee Hom, is a journey that takes place during China's Warring States Period.
