Tops at the box office: Norliana Samsudin (Yana) in "Adnan Sempit"

18 Jan – In a weekend where Malaysian titles "Adnan Sempit" and "Tiger Woohoo" are making waves (Jan 14-17), the amazing record-breaking run for "Avatar", now nearing a worldwide total gross of US$ 1.6 billion, is futher enhanced by it winning the most coveted prize at the just concluded 67th Golden Globes Awards in Beverly Hills, California.

The sci-fi epic took Best Motion Picture (Drama) and also a Best Director bonus for James Cameron, who is now responsible for the two highest grossing films of all time, as the visually stunning picture nears the US$ 1.8 billion mark set by "Titanic" in 1997. He did however say he expected to lose out to his ex-wife Kathryn Bigelow's powerful Iraq war drama "The Hurt Locker".
