While "Cop Out," an action-comedy starring Bruce Willis and Tracy Morgan, opened in second place with US$18.6 million.

Meanwhile, according to Malaysian movie distributor Metrowealth Movies Production, "Niyang Rapik" had exceeded expectations, garnering over RM2 million in its opening weekend at Malaysian box office. In Singapore, Hollywood's fifth adaptation of a tearjerker Nicholas Sparks novel "Dear John" debuted stronger than of John Travolta's action thriller "From Paris With Love", grossing S$200,000 at the box office according to distributor Golden Village Pictures. With onscreen couple Channing Tatum ("G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra") and Amanda Seyfriend ("Jennifer's Body") in the lead, the film striked a favourable response despite its genre.
