22 Dec – Following the major box office collections for the fifth movie in the "Fast And Furious" series, "Fast Five", it looks there more sequels have been set, with the tentatively titled "Fast And Furious 6" and "Fast And Furious 7" to see filming back-to-back, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Long-time star and producer of "Fast And Furious", Vin Diesel, said that the two sequels are actually a split from the sixth instalment of "Fast and Furious", which is currently in the pre-production stages.

"We have to pay off this story, we have to service all of these character relationships, and when we started mapping all that out it just went beyond 110 pages," Diesel explained. "The studio said, 'You can't fit all that story in one damn movie!'"

Although 44-year-old Diesel did not reveal details on whether the two movies would be in two parts or two standalone movies, but he revealed that the creative team also includes director Justin Lin and Chris Morgan.

"With the success of the last one, and the inclusion of so many characters, and the broadening of the scope, when we were sitting down to figure out what would fit into real estate of number six, we didn't have enough space."

The success of "Fast Five" was due to the reboot of the franchise into an action-adventure heist from the genre of car-racing adventure. It garnered the best reviews in the franchise's history and grossed an astonishing US $626 million worldwide.

It is said that the character played by Eva Mendes, Monica Fuentes, in "2 Fast 2 Furious" will return as well as Michelle Rodriguez, as seen in a coda at the end of "Fast Five". The franchise is also well-known for its star power and consistent ensemble cast, so the same can be expected for the sixth and seventh instalment, which will hopefully conclude the story.
