30 Dec – Malaysia's award-winning animation studio, Silver Ant Sdn Bhd, has announced that it has selected Grand Brilliance to distribute and market "SeeFood", its first animation adventure film.
At a recent signing ceremony to kick start the partnership, Primeworks Studio's Chief Executive Officer, Ahmad Izham Omar said that the Grand Brilliance team is very honoured and excited to be given the opportunity to distribute and promote "SeeFood" across Malaysia.
"SeeFood" follows two fun-loving marine creatures, Pup and Julius who adventure to a place filled with colourful characters and unending mystery – land, to save a dozen of egg sacks from poachers.
Silver Ant's Founder and Animation Director, Goh Aun Hoe, says that choosing Grand Brilliance as the exclusive distributor of "SeeFood" in Malaysia was an easy task given its reach and its record of distribution success in the Malaysian market.
The Pixar-like CGI animated "SeeFood" is based on writer and creator Jeffrey Chiang's idea, who had previously ventured into horror with "Dilarang Masuk" last April.
After premiering at the Cannes' Marche du Film in May 2011, "SeeFood" was subsequently released in over 90 countries across North America, Europe, Latin America and Asia. On March 8, 2012, "SeeFood" will finally open to local audiences in 80 cinemas.
A Singapore date of release is yet to be confirmed at the time of publication.
