MBO Subang Parade finally open!

8 Sep – MBO Cinemas opens its 13th outlet at Subang Parade today, which comprises of eight halls including three halls for 3D films, after the Cineplex held a preview for the media yesterday along with their invited guests and cast of the local movie "Nasi Lemak 2.0".

After more than 10-years since Subang Parade's shopping mall closed its first 3-hall SMILE-UA Cineplex, and 10 months of construction since last November, the Cineplex now occupies the highest floor, level 2, at the east end above MPH Bookstores.

At yesterday's launch and ribbon cutting ceremony lead by MBO's Chief Operation Officer Ikmal Nizam Ariffin, the cast of "Nasi Lemak 2.0", Namewee, Nadine Ann, Dian Sharlin and also model Amber Chia, made a short appearance before the movie was screened for the members of the media who had the opportunity to go on a cinema tour earlier.

The Cineplex encompasses a unique design where the walls of the hallways are lined with quotes from popular movies, and also flashing lights with paparazzi cutouts that light up when movie patrons walk by.

Each hall as its own distinctive colours and schemes, with spacious high-backed seats complete with retractable armrests. Most of the halls also have ramps to enable easy access for the disabled and additionally, the Cineplex also allows patrons to purchase their tickets from special kiosks without having to queue up.

With 1,365 seats, the largest hall with 329 seats is Hall 3, while Hall 7 has the least number of seats totalling to 124. Hall 1, Hall 7 and Hall 8 are especially outfitted with a digital projection system to present 3D films.

MBO Cineplex Subang Parade is now running the Cans Film Festival, which will be held this 8 to 15 September where moviegoers can exchange can foods for movie tickets to watch "Thor", "X-Men: First Class", "Kung Fu Panda 2: The Kaboom Of Doom" and "Mr. Popper's Penguins".
