The cast of "Gulliver's Travels" (L-R): Jack Black, Jason Segel and Emily Blunt.

3 Jan – The first weekend of 2011 (Dec 30 – Jan 2) opened to a static chart movement where "Little Fockers" maintained its number one spot at the North American box-office with Western drama "True Grit" still holding close to Ben Stiller's dysfunctional on-screen family.

Passing US$100 million in just 12 days is no longer a wonder with online tracker Box Office Mojo reporting that its 2004 predecessor, "Meet The Fockers", raked in the same in only eight days and had nearly double the attendance.

The site also reported that "True Grit" remains strong and firm at number two, racking up an estimated US$24.5 million. With $86.8 million in 12 days, the Western remake topped "No Country for Old Men" ($74.3 million) to become Joel and Ethan Coen's biggest movie yet, and it has since become the most attended Western drama since "Tombstone" from Christmas of 1993.

The second movie adaptation of the 1968 novel by Charles Portis about a young girl trying to avenge her father's murder by hiring a one-eyed U.S Marshall played by Award-Winning actor Jeff Bridges is set to play in Singapore and Malaysia on 24 February 2011.

Meanwhile Bridges' other movie, sci-fi flick "TRON Legacy" maintained at third place with an estimated US$18.3 million, down four percent to a US$130.9 million score in 17 days. The movie repeated in third with an estimated US$18.3 million, down four percent for a US$130.9 million score in 17 days.

After blazing past the first "Tron"'s estimated attendance, it is about to eclipse the final haul of M. Night Shyamalan's "The Last Airbender" in 2010.

Angelina Jolie and Johnny Depp in "The Tourist".

Ben Stiller reprising his role as Greg Focker and child actor, Colin Baiocchi as his son, Henry in "Meet The Parents: Little Fockers".

In addition to that, GSC Mid Valley cinema manager Mr Lee Kong Yew revealed that besides "Gulliver's Travels", two other movies to join the ranks of the top 3 highest-grossing movies at the location are surprisingly, the Jolie-Depp drama "The Tourist" and "Meet The Parents: Little Fockers", pushing "TRON Legacy" further down the charts.

In Singapore, other movies that opened include "Just Call Me Nobody" and "A Better Tomorrow".
