"Lagenda Budak Setan 2" aims RM20 mil

Maya Karin and Farid Kamil are starring in "Lagenda Budak Setan 2".

18 Oct – This 29 November, it is expected that the release of "Lagenda Budak Setan 2", the film adaptation of Ahadiat Akashah's romance novel will set another milestone in the local movie scene since the success of the original.

Farid Kamil plays Kasyah, who is now a single father, in "Lagenda Budak Setan 2".
According to "Ombak Rindu" producer and "Lagenda Budak Setan" director Sharad Sharan, the first movie managed to gross a total of RM4 million in the local box office, which is why he is targeting RM20 million for the sequel.

"After the release of "Lagenda Budak Setan", films like "Ombak Rindu" also managed to achieve excellent box office results, which is why I believe that "Lagenda Budak Setan 2" will have the same impact," said Sharan.

"Lagenda Budak Setan 2", also known as "Lagenda Budak Setan 2 – Katerina", has 2008 Malaysian Film Festival Best Actress Maya Karin replacing Lisa Surihani as the female lead in the role of the eponymous Katerina, which gives audiences something to look forward to. The sequel takes place after the death of Ayu (Lisa Surihani), and Kasyah (Farid Kamil) is a single father struggling to care for their child, Athirah. During that time, he runs into Katerina (Maya Karin), his ex-lover who almost committed suicide because of him, and these two lost souls eventually reconnect through their need for love and companionship.

"I was very confident with my decision to cast Maya Karin in the sequel after her performance in "Ombak Rindu". And she did give her best in "Lagenda Budak Setan 2".

The movie, which was shot at the Kingdom of Bhutan near the Himalayas, is expected to hit cinemas in Malaysia on 29 November. Malaysian Film Festival Best Actor award winner Bront Palarae also stars.
