22 Jun – It seems that the fourth instalment of fossilised franchise "Jurassic Park" is a definite go, seeing as Universal Pictures has already found new writers to pen their screenplay. According to Deadline, writing duo Amanda Silver and Rick Jaffa who were behind Rupert Wyatt's "Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes" reboot in 2011, have been tapped by the studio to begin writing for "Jurassic Park 4", which will be the sequel to their "Jurassic Park 3" back in 2001. It is not known whether the writing partners would be penning a whole new script or reworking the first draft that was written by Mark Protosevich since 2011. "Jurassic Park 4" has long been in the works since the end of its third instalment but the project went into a halt after the author and creator of the original "Jurassic Park" books, Michael Crichton, passed away in 2008 despite that the third movie was not related to either of Crichton's books. Steven Spielberg, who adapted Crichton's book into the blockbuster film "Jurassic Park" in 1993, would not be directing the latest instalment, but will act as its producer alongside Kathleen Kennedy. A director has not been confirmed as yet, but director Joe Johnston, who had a hand in "Jurassic Park 3" and "Captain America: The First Avenger" had been showing his interest in the project for quite some time. The tentatively titled "Jurassic Park 4" is slated for a 2014 release.
