14 Nov – The big story over the weekend (8 – 11 November) is without a doubt, "Skyfall"'s record-setting debut in the U.S. at a total of $90.6 million. The 23rd James Bond film directed by Sam Mendes is only a day short from passing "Casino Royale" to become the highest-grossing Bond movie ever overseas while it is already the highest-grossing movie of the year in native U.K. In second place is Disney Animation's "Wreck-It Ralph", succeeded by Robert Zemeckis' "Flight".

In Malaysia, "Skyfall" remained in first place, followed by "Cold War". The Hong Kong police film is directed by debutants Sunny Luk and Longman Leung and stars Aaron Kwok, Tony Leung Ka-fai, Charlie Yeung, Gordon Lam, Chin Kar-lok, Aarif Rahman and Eddie Peng. "Cold War" is a code name for a major operation in the Hong Kong Police Force that was launched when a fully loaded police van carrying the force's most advanced equipment and five highly trained officers has disappeared off the grid. The hijackers possess direct knowledge of police procedures and have already made a list of demands for the hostages' release. Time is running out, but two rival Deputy Commissioners, Sean Lau and Waise Lee are fighting to take charge of the rescue operation, becoming unwitting pawns in a bigger, more dangerous game. Rounding up the top three is the local film "Istanbul Aku Datang". Bernard Chauly's romantic comedy stars Lisa Surihani, Tomok and Beto Kusyairy as three individuals caught in a love triangle when Dian (Lisa) a sweet and naïve blogger, travels to Istanbul in hopes of convincing her medical student boyfriend Azad (Tomok) to propose to her. However, Dian's plans to stay with Azad do not go as planned, and Dian is forced to move into a shared apartment with Harris (Beto).

Meanwhile, in Singapore, "Skyfall" has shockingly fell from first place, which is then dominated by local film, "Ah Boys To Men: Part 1", directed by veteran Jack Neo. The reason may be that the film marks Singapore's 45th year of National Service and focuses on the theme of the definitive path for all young men in Singapore's National Service (NS), which appeals to the patriotic nature of Singaporeans. It is also Singapore's first military themed film in 10 years, as well as the first movie duology. In second place is "Skyfall", followed by "Pitch Perfect". The latter revolves around an all-girl a capella team in Barden College, The Bellas. After a performance gone awry, Aubrey (Anna Camp) and Chloe (Brittany Snow) of The Bellas are desperate to recruit new members for the club. The duo soon find them in a new student named Beca (Anna Kendrick), Fat Amy (Rebel Wilson) among others, and The Bellas soon begin training in order to make it into the finals and beat their rival, Barden College's all-male a capella team, Treble Makers.
